We are Pineapple-Shaped Lamps, a ridiculawesome Wilmington-based sketch comedy troupe, and we have traveled halfway across the globe (our globe only has North Carolina on it) to deliver our own unique brand of silliness upon an unsuspecting and frankly terrified public.
Pineapple-Shaped Lamps was born out of a shared affinity for all things nerdy. We began as a Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast, and then went on to write and produce full-scale stage adaptations of cult classics like "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" by Joss Whedon, and "Cannibal! The Musical" by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. During that time, we started work on a weekly stage show that combined our nerdy obsessions with our love of live sketch comedy, a la Saturday Night Live.
Velocilaughter has come. Watch out. We've learned how to open doors.
