Annabelle Goes It Alone...

Annabelle is on her way up, or out, or just anywhere else than where she has already been. And like everyone else, she’s developed her own style of coping – music helps. So does meat loaf. And men.

Morgonn Ewen brings a unique one woman character sketch show to the festival. Annabelle, a country girl who has seen better times, engages the audience in a conversation about life and love through her own brand of song (think alt comedy country) and self-depreciating chit chat. Accompanying herself on guitar, she turns to the audience for answers ("Why does every man in here look like my ex?!), though inevitably, she says too much..... ("….did she buy you that shirt? Oh, no, I understand completely, you gotta do what you gotta do to get laid.”).

Morgonn is also an improviser, singer, composer and teacher. She has played leading roles in the classical and modern theatre repertoire to critical acclaim and awards. As well, appearing in various television shows and in a number of feature and short indie films. She has studied at The Second City Training Centre, The Impatient Theatre Company, Centre for the Arts, Professional Actors Lab, The New School of Drama, (all of Toronto, Canada), The California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA, The Banff Centre for Fine Arts, Banff, Alberta, and The Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. She has also been the recipient of various scholarships, grants and awards. She has several recordings, the critically acclaimed CD entitled 'what we see', amongst them.
