Charlie Gadd

Where it all started...well, Charlie Gadd grew up in a small house in a small town in a small state - Mississippi.

He was the first generation in his family to have indoor home plumbing – no kidding. And also was one of the first in his family to do post-high school studies. After college, Charlie taught high school English, a second language in Mississippi, and on the side, he coached the cross-country team to meet single moms. In 1999, he joined the Navy to see the world and somehow got stuck on a ship during the middle of 9/11 and Operation Enduring Freedom. The recruiter told him his job was going to be a Naval Business Officer but his primary focus ended up being Snack Food Logistics or running the “7-11 Store” onboard the ship. Currently, Charlie lives in Chicago and works by day at O'Hare in budgets and manpower planning for the airport. And since his degree is actually in English (from Mississippi), that pretty much explains the chaos at O'Hare.

Charlie has been performing at numerous comedy clubs across the country from Los Angeles to Chicago. Notably: Comedy Store (San Diego), The Ice House (Los Angeles), Hollywood Improv (Hollywood), Edge Comedy (Chicago), Bronzeville Coffeehouse (Chicago), Pressure Cafe (Chicago), Barrel of Laughs (Oak Lawn, IL), Midwest Comedy Showcase (West Dundee, IL), the Cornservatory (Chicago), and Zanies (Chicago and Vernon Hills).

Charlie has featured at Zanies in Chicago where he opened for Emo Philips, Patti Vasquez, Shay Shay, and Tim Clue. Additionally, Charlie appeared on television for Fox’s “Good Day Chicago" to promote the Recession Proof Comedy Show for Zanies April Fools Day. In 2009, Charlie participated in the Soldiers of Comedy Tour where he performed for the troops at Beale and Malmstrom Air Force Bases.
